Type a VIN, get the vehicle. Seventeen characters turn into a clean vehicle pass: make, model, year, trim, engine, transmission and assembly plant, decoded from the public NHTSA vPIC database, free and with no paywall.
Then the app does the part most others skip. It looks up NHTSA safety campaigns for that model year, puts the serious ones on top (park outside, do not drive) and keeps watching after you close the app: when a new campaign appears for a vehicle in your Garage, you get a notification.
