"Calls Blacklist" is both a call blocker and an SMS blocker. It can easily block calls and messages from unwanted, private (hidden, anonymous) or unknown numbers.

Revision: I switched to the "Pro" version and the app only works intermittently now. Tried to contact the developer. The pro version is not reliable. Calls Blacklist just works. In my case, I had a neighbor lady making crank phone calls from both private and unknown numbers. This app takes care of it well. I tried quite a few of these types of apps but they either didn't work or needed too many permissions. Try Calls Blacklist. It's a well written, helpful, and non intrusive app.

Since Verizon Filter requires you to pay for a subscription to block calls with specific when specific prefix numbers, I figured they'd never do anything to actually help the customer since they are making money on it. So I found Calls Blacklist and it does just that without me paying (has ads). I don't mind the ads since I don't really need to go into the app. You would need to if you used the SMS blocker.

Excellent. This week (12/12/2022) I started getting bombarded with spam callers ... almost six an hour. It was bad enough that I was ready to change my phone number to get rid of this problem. That was a bit extreme as it would have necessitated updating other profiles and I didn't want to go thru that hassle. After trying out three other call blockers, I tried this one. Calls Blacklist does exactly as advertised - blocks calls and allows me to black list them. It works perfectly for my needs!
