About this app

VoiceUPI is an SMS-based UPI and bank payment alert app for Indian merchants, shopkeepers and individuals.

Its core function is to detect actual credit and debit transaction SMS messages from bank and UPI sender IDs, announce payments aloud, and maintain local transaction history, summaries, analytics and PDF reports.

VoiceUPI uses RECEIVE_SMS only for newly received financial transaction SMS. It does not request READ_SMS, does not read old SMS history, OTPs, personal messages or conversations, does not verify accounts, does not detect fraud, and does not initiate payments.

How VoiceUPI works:
1. A bank or UPI transaction SMS arrives on the phone.
2. VoiceUPI checks whether the SMS is an actual credit or debit transaction.
3. If it is valid, VoiceUPI detects the amount, transaction type, payer/payee name and payment source where available.
4. The app announces the payment aloud.
5. The transaction is shown in Home, History, Summary, Analytics and PDF reports.

Privacy and SMS usage:
- SMS permission is required only for newly received bank/UPI transaction SMS.
- VoiceUPI does not request READ_SMS.
- VoiceUPI does not read old SMS history.
- VoiceUPI does not read OTPs or personal messages.
- VoiceUPI does not verify accounts.
- VoiceUPI does not detect fraud.
- VoiceUPI does not initiate payments.
- Promotional messages, payment requests, failed transactions, future debit alerts and non-transaction messages are ignored.
- Transaction history is stored locally on the device for history, summary, analytics and PDF reports.
- Optional alert sharing uses Firebase only when the user enables Alert Members.
