HOW IT WORKS

Once requested, the Waymo car will pick you up from your current location; all you have to do is hop in, sit back, and buckle up. To begin your trip, tap “Start Ride” on the in-car passenger screen where you can also see what the Waymo Driver sees and contact Rider Support at any time.

Ratings and reviews

It was ok. At first it was good, pickup went well and getting into the car was easy. A little while into the drive the car started to malfunction and kept pulling over. We called ride support and got put on the phone with two people at the same time. We finally got someone to help us, but were in a bit of a rush and so we just got out, though eventually they did get it working. Overall I would say do this more for the cool experience, but know that it is technology and sometimes it won't work.

Using this service is a hit or miss, sometimes it it is great and other times it is not. There were times it was very cold outside but the heater wasn't working properly, so we spent the whole car ride shivering. One time I was approaching the car only for it to drive away and charge me a 5 dollar fee for not entering the vehicle in a single minute. I mostly use this service when it is cheaper or has a shorter wait time than Uber

Felt futuristic for sure and excited to be in driver less taxi and enjoyed the trip. the only reason I am giving 3 stars because it dropped me in a different location instead of the location I chose. I was new to Phoenix and couldn't find the difference. later found out that it's a wrong location. later I found out their waymo support that it dropped me in a different location because the original selected location is not drivable. I agree but it should have notified me while in the car.
