The Wind & Weather Meter app works with the WeatherFlow WINDmeter and the WeatherFlow WEATHERmeter -- available for purchase at retailers online and offline. When paired with a WeatherFlow meter, this free app allows you to take & share weather reports from your exact location. Capture highly accurate weather data, including wind speed (average, gust and lull), wind direction, air temperature, humidity and pressure. The app also give you values such as wind chill, heat index, apparent wind, crosswind, tailwind, dew point, air density and more. Add a description and instantly share your report via Twitter, Facebook, SMS, email and more. Weather reports captured from this app can be posted instantly to popular online weather services including iKitesurf, iWindsurf, SailFlow, WindAlert, and FishWeather.

App does not run in the background, so if you need to leave the screen or any reason it disconnects. Then you need to physically press the power button on the unit to turn it back on and then tap connect in the app. If I turn it on, I want it to stay on! My Kestrel DROP doesn't do this. I don't have to go to the device and press the power button to connect to it BLE, nor does the app stop working if I switch to another app. Also, they make it hard to see ALL the data fields at once.

The app is not requesting microphone access in its permissions list (it's missing in the app's manifest). Therefore, making all legacy WINDmeter devices which are meant to connect via the audio jack absolutely unusable. This is because Android doesn't allow adding a permission to the app unless the app requests it (which you are not doing). It's not possible to connect the legacy WINDmeters (WFANO-01b) to this app due to this. Please fix asap.

Thanks, Stanislav, but this app does not support the legacy (plug-in) meters. Those models have been discontinued quite some time ago in favor of Bluetooth connected models when phone hardware ditched audio jack inputs. You can contact support to upgrade any deprecated equipment you might still be using. Visit: help.tempest.earth

having temperature reading issues. email supports requested documentation... provided. Zero response. Contact phone support... stated open at 6 hours M-F, no reps answer phone call. mandated to leave message. The product might work well.. I might never know because currently it does not. 2/6/26 Tremendously improved response after initial no-response glitch. rating upgraded from 1 to 5.
