888 is a game of colour judgement, nothing else.
Every round puts a target patch on one side and your own empty flask on the other. Under them sits a row of pipettes, one per dye. A tap adds a single dose, and the flask takes on the average colour of everything inside it. Nothing tells you the recipe behind the target, only the colour it came out as.
When the two patches read the same to you, pour. A correct mix scores a hit and the next target comes up; a wrong one costs a try. Gather the level's hits and the level is yours.
Nothing here rests on guessing. Each target is built from a whole number of doses of the dyes on the buttons, at least two of them, and your flask always has room for that exact recipe, so every round can be solved by looking hard enough at it.
Higher levels pour more doses into the target, bring in a fourth dye and stop accepting a mix that is one dose off, so the two patches you are comparing sit closer and closer together.
