About this app

This app is an OPTIONAL tool that allows you to manage your SmarTrip® card and account. This app can NOT be used to pay your transit or parking fares. You do NOT need to setup a SmarTrip account to use SmarTrip in Google Wallet.

Add SmarTrip to Google Wallet:

- Open Google Wallet, tap “+ Add to Wallet”, choose “Transit Pass”, then “SmarTrip”

- In less than a minute you’ll have a new SmarTrip card in your Google Wallet and be ready to tap to pay for rides or parking anywhere SmarTrip is accepted.

If you need to do account management, then:

- Install this optional SmarTrip app to register your card for account balance protection, check SmartBenefits, setup Auto-Reload, or buy money-saving unlimited transit passes.

Worked good (long winded) when transitioning from physical card to digital. I felt like adding value to the card in my android, so I used this app to add ten bucks in value. Submitted & there is absolutely no change in stored value. No audit trail in transaction history. No notice that says any wait is expected or any connection whatsoever to my "purchase". The only thing that shows me the purchase is pending is the charge pending on my Amex account. This: ridiculous, confusing & not transparent

Hmm this doesn't sound right. Please chat with us at wmata.com/chat so we can verify what may be going on. The value could be pending since our system is touch-based and you have to tap your card to load the value. The transaction may have also failed and the pending transaction will reverse. We can confirm this for you. -KB
