OmniHerd Service is a specialized technical tool designed for users and installers of the OmniHerd monitoring system.
The application is used for local configuration and diagnostics of IoT measurement devices.
Using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, the application allows for safe and fast management of device operating parameters directly in the field, without the need for physical connection of cables.
Key application features:
• Scanning and Identification: Quickly detects active OmniHerd devices within Bluetooth range.
• Wi-Fi Network Configuration: Remotely configures the SSID and password, enabling IoT devices to connect to the local network infrastructure.
• MQTT Settings: Configures the MQTT broker server address, which is crucial for the correct transmission of telemetry data.
• Parameter Reading: Ability to check the currently saved settings on the device to verify correct configuration.
• Connection Management: An intuitive interface allows you to establish and terminate communication sessions with a selected sensor.
Why does OmniHerd Service require permissions?
The app respects your privacy, but requires the following permissions to function properly:
• Bluetooth: Required for communication with devices.
• Location: On Android systems, this permission is technically required for the system to scan for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. The OmniHerd Service app does NOT track, collect, or transmit your location to external servers.
