About this app

What is it?
An app for creating digitally interactive scavenger hunts to lead the player on a path of discovery.

What can it be used for?
You can create a digital timeline of events / places of interest tour, with the use of GPS co-ordinates and pre-placed codes. Excellent for ice-breaking exercises, historical / archaeological sites, or more simply presenting a vision for the future or event the past.

More!
Actionbound is an app for playing digital scavenger hunts by means of installed digital content in the physical world.

The content is filled in by the users at actionbound.com making actual surroundings a backdrop for the game. We call these interactive mobile rallies “Bounds”, essentially a collection of diverse tasks, e.g., taking pictures, dancing, playing a game etc., linked to a specific location.

The program quite literally augments our reality by enhancing peoples’ real-life interaction whilst using their smart phones and tablets. Apart from the altruistic goal of helping people to discover “their environment by learning more about its history, politics and culture”, the free app is payable for corporate clients, who can use Actionbound for team-building events and the likes.

Actionbound is an interactive app-based game approach for smart phones and tablets: Players are invited to accomplish tasks, which can be defined through the so-called Bound-Creator on the website actionbound.com, in order to playfully discover their environment by learning more about its history, politics and culture. In contrast to a geocache or a scavenger hunt Actionbound requires the players to create their own content. On the Actionbound website anyone can generate easily and without any programming skills his / or her own "Bounds", which means an interactive mobile rally.

Can't understand the negative reviews. I used Actionbound to create three Christmas Day "Quests" for my family members. The longest one had 87 steps and kept my teens busy and driving around the neighborhood for over two hours. It's was a huge hit. The app and associated website are easy and incredibly fun! I was glad I found it and plan to use it again in the future. Thanks for the cool idea!

The app is really good once you get the idea how it works and learn to use its features. The design and ux/ui is a bit outdated, but still functional. In good hands can do miracles. Issues are hard to avoid as long as the experience depends on multiple parties (device, creators, platform, hosting providers, users), so ignore the score, it's underrated. Looking forward to updates and new features.

Used this app to make an Easter egg hunt for my GF, it's really easy to use and very flexible with loads of options for clues. I thought it would be the kind of app to use once and delete, but there are loads of hunts on there. I have since been using it to explore my local city, although it's limited at the minute, the more people that use it and make hunts, the better it will be. I'm already planning a few of my own now
