About this app

Want to use practical connectivity features in your Volkswagen*, but don’t have We Connect or Car-Net in your vehicle? No problem. Together with our DataPlug**, the ‘We Connect Go’ app connects you instantly with your new vehicle or model from 2008 onwards. That’s plug and play connectivity from Volkswagen.

Ratings and reviews

Just received info that the app is slated to be terminated at the end of 2025. I am not surprised that VW is finally pulling the plug on a mediocre service. The app has not been functional for more than a year, with 95% of the trips not being recorded since the app is not able to set a connection with the DataPlug. I'm not sure if the problem was in the end the OBD plug or the app itself (maybe not compatible with recent Android updates), but in the end, nobody will miss the service.

My app is now continually 'updating workshops' which others have reported. I think we need a bug fix update please. 13/11/2021 It's been misbehaving a lot on and off since July 2023 but I think is now finally behaving after numerous calls/emails responded to by the team in Greece. 6 May 2024 the app has been misbehaving for months. In April 2024 I was told to download and reinstall everything. The problem is still not fixed. It's just recorded one trip, but hardly recorded anything on 5 May.

It's a disgrace that in 2024, a company as big as VW can not do an app that actually works. It's so frustrating to get it to work, keeps loading, freezing, crashing all the time
