About this app

Airdroidfy connects your Android to your Mac: it sends files both ways, turns
your tablet into a second screen for your Mac, shows your phone's screen on the
Mac and uses your phone's camera in video calls. No cloud and no account: what
leaves one device reaches the other over your local network (or, for the
display, over the cable), and nothing else.

MAC DISPLAY
Your tablet, or your phone, becomes one more display for your Mac. Extend the
Mac's desktop onto the tablet, next to the main screen, or mirror the Mac's
screen on it.
- By cable: connect the tablet to the Mac with a data cable. No need to turn on
developer options or USB debugging. The first time, Android asks whether it
may open Airdroidfy: check "Always open".
- Over Wi-Fi: with both on the same network, tap "Use as Mac display" and
confirm on the Mac.
- Touch works as a mouse: tap to click, long-press to right-click and two
fingers to scroll. A stylus moves the pointer just by hovering over the
screen.
Nothing is recorded, and Android keeps no thumbnail of the Mac's screen in
recent apps.

SEND FILES
Photos, videos, documents, anything. Both ways, with an integrity check on
every file: what arrives is byte for byte what was sent. No silent
compression, no loss of quality along the way.

MIRROR THE SCREEN
See your phone's screen on the Mac. Android asks for your confirmation every
session — it's the system's own dialog, and the app cannot skip it.

CONTROL FROM THE MAC
While mirroring, you tap and type on Android using the Mac's mouse and
keyboard. For this the app uses Android's accessibility service — the only API
the system offers for it — and it only turns on with your explicit permission
in Settings, after a screen that explains what the service does.

What it does: performs the taps and keystrokes that come from your Mac.
What it does not do: it does not read screen content, does not record what you
type and accepts no commands outside a mirroring session you have authorized.

Turn it off whenever you like, in Android Settings or from the notification
shade.

The Mac display does not use this service: there, touching the tablet becomes
the mouse on the Mac.

CAMERA FOR THE MAC
Use your phone's camera in Meet, Zoom, FaceTime or any video app on the Mac.
Switch between front and back and stop whenever you like, from the app or the
notification. Nothing is sent before you accept on the phone.

NOTIFICATIONS ON THE MAC
Android notifications appear on the Mac while the two are on the same
network. It is off by default and only turns on with your permission in
Android Settings.

QR CODE PAIRING
Just once. After that the two devices recognize each other on their own
whenever they are on the same network or connected by cable.

NO ACCOUNT, NO SIGN-UP
There is no login. We collect no personal data, have no usage analytics, show
no ads and ship no third-party SDKs in the app. We don't ask for your e-mail.

SECURITY
Every connection uses TLS 1.3, and both sides prove who they are with the
certificate they exchanged when pairing. If the certificate doesn't match
exactly, the connection dies before the first byte. There is no certificate
authority in the middle, and no server of ours in the path of your files. The
cable is no different: the display uses the same TLS 1.3 and the same pairing
certificate.

Over Wi-Fi, the app refuses to connect outside a private network. It is a check
in the socket itself, not a setting that can be switched off by accident. By
cable, the connection goes from one device to the other with no network in
between.

- A Mac with an M1 chip or newer and macOS 14 or newer, with Airdroidfy

- Both devices on the same Wi-Fi network
- For the display by cable: a USB data cable, plugged straight into the Mac
- For the display: Airdroidfy 0.2.0 or newer on the Mac

What’s new

Drag between screens: with your phone next to your computer, drag a photo to the edge and it crosses onto the Mac's or PC's screen, at the same height and the same size. Up to 10 at once.
In the Send tab, select files and press and hold one to drag the selection.
From the computer to here too: the file comes in at the edge and lands in Downloads.
Works with the tablet in landscape.
Needs Airdroidfy 0.4.0+ on the Mac or 1.3.0+ on Windows.
