Android β Mac sync for your clipboard, files and notifications. Ember keeps your Android phone and your Mac in sync: copy on your phone and paste on your Mac, send images and files either way, and see your phone's notifications on your Mac. Everything is end-to-end encrypted and travels locally over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi whenever your devices are near each other.
π CLIPBOARD & FILES
β’ Text and images sync both ways, the moment you copy
β’ Send files in either direction: share from Android, or drop onto Ember in the Mac menu bar
β’ Files stay end-to-end encrypted in transit and land in Downloads on the other device
π NOTIFICATION MIRRORING
β’ Your Android notifications appear on your Mac
β’ Reply from your Mac to apps that support quick replies
β’ Choose exactly which apps are mirrored
π‘ ALWAYS THE FASTEST PRIVATE PATH
Ember automatically picks the best route for every transfer:
β’ Bluetooth: same room, no network needed, works offline
β’ Wi-Fi / LAN: same network, fast local transfers for big files
β’ Cloud relay (optional): when your devices are apart
Over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, your data goes directly between your devices and never touches the internet. The internet is used only if you turn on cloud sync and no local link is available.
π PRIVATE BY DESIGN
β’ End-to-end encrypted: X25519 key exchange, AES-256-GCM per message
β’ Keys are generated on your devices and never leave them
β’ Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sync need no account and no server
β’ The optional cloud relay is zero-knowledge: it forwards encrypted data it can't read, and stores none of it
β’ No ads, no tracking
βοΈ CLOUD SYNC (OPTIONAL)
Away from home? Sign in with just your email to sync over the internet when your devices aren't on the same network. Cloud sync is free for now. Paid plans may come later; local sync over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi stays free.
π SIMPLE SETUP
1. Install Ember on your Android phone, and on your Mac from the Mac App Store
2. Scan the QR code shown on your Mac to pair
3. Copy on one device, and it's already on the other
Requires Android 11 or later and a Mac with macOS 13 or later (menu-bar app).
π ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE (OPTIONAL AUTO-COPY)
Auto-copy is optional and off by default, and Ember asks for your consent in the app before you turn it on. When you turn it on, Ember's Accessibility Service watches taps, pop-up and toolbar windows, and "copied" toast messages in other apps to notice when you copy something. It reads the text of the tapped item and of those windows only to detect a Copy action. When it detects one, Ember briefly opens an invisible screen to read the clipboard (Android only lets the app in focus read it) and sends the copied content to your paired Mac, end-to-end encrypted. Nothing is sent to us. You can turn it off at any time.
