UTTA — Ultra-Trail Training for Long Distances
UTTA is a training companion designed for athletes preparing for an ultra-trail over several months. Not a consumer running app: a serious tool, based on the principles of periodization, that structures your preparation from the initial assessment to the starting line.
——— A STRUCTURED FOUR-STEP PREPARATION
• Athlete Profile and History
Enter your experience, injury history, and previous records (distance, elevation gain). The plan is then tailored accordingly—an athlete returning from injury doesn't receive the same training volume as a fresh runner.
• Week Zero (Assessment Week)
Before starting the plan, seven days of structured assessment: progressive cardio tests, long runs, hill tests, and strength and conditioning sessions. UTTA measures your actual fitness level instead of taking your word for it, and adjusts the rest of the program accordingly.
• Periodized Macro-Plan
The plan is automatically generated based on your target run (distance, elevation gain, date) and your weekly availability. It is broken down into four phases—Base, Build, Specific, Taper—each with its own objectives, weekly volume, chosen long run day, and focus points.
• Current Week Tracking
Each day, UTTA displays the prescribed session: type, duration, blocks, intensity. You can directly start the prescribed session or a free run.
——— TERRAIN TRACKING
During your runs, UTTA records in real time:
• Distance, positive and negative elevation gain (GPS)
• Pace, instantaneous and average speed
• Heart rate via Bluetooth sensor (chest strap or watch)
• Cadence via BLE sensor
• Real-time heart rate zones (Z1 recovery to Z5 VO2 max)
• Duration and adherence to the prescribed plan
No network connection required. Everything is calculated and stored on your phone.

UTTA includes a library of general physical preparation exercises (strength training, mobility, core stability), planned in the macro-plan just like your field runs. Track by intervals or repetitions, optional heart rate monitor.
— GOAL AND INTERMEDIATE RACES
Define your target race (name, distance, elevation gain, date). UTTA estimates your probability of finishing over the weeks, based on your profile and progress. You can also record intermediate races to simulate race conditions during your preparation.

UTTA doesn't require an account, doesn't sync anything to the cloud, and doesn't send any data. All your measurements, your profile, your plan, and your sessions remain on your device. Your training belongs to you.

UTTA is for serious trail runners preparing for an ultra (UTMB, Comrades, Trans-Alps, first 80km or 100 miles) over several months. For beginners: this isn't the most suitable tool — UTTA assumes regular training.
