Doomscrolling steals hours. NoScroll gives them back.
NoScroll watches how you actually use your apps, not just how long they're open. Message friends, read an article, watch one video: nothing happens. But when you've been mindlessly scrolling a feed past your limit, NoScroll steps in: a full-screen warning with a countdown, and if you keep scrolling, the app is closed and paused (10 minutes by default).
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick the apps that pull you in (TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, …)
• NoScroll detects real, active scrolling, tuned per app for video feeds vs. text feeds
• Cross your limit → countdown warning → keep going and the app closes and locks
• You get 3 free "Stop now" escapes a day; after those are used, the lock-out applies
• Calmer mornings: NoScroll works out when you wake up from your phone's own unlock pattern, so the first limited app you open asks "really?" with a pause before you continue
ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
NoScroll uses Android's AccessibilityService API to provide its core feature: detecting when you are actively scrolling inside the apps you choose to limit.
• It reads only which of your selected apps is in the foreground, and whether scrolling or typing is happening in it, so it can measure your active scrolling time, show the warning, and close or pause that app.
• It does not read screen content, messages or passwords.
• Android delivers events only from the apps you select, never from your bank, email or any other app.
• All processing happens on your device. NoScroll collects no data, stores nothing off your device, and shares nothing with anyone.
You are shown a clear explanation and asked for consent before this permission is requested, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No internet permission, the app is technically unable to send data anywhere
• Accessibility access is restricted by Android to only the apps you select
• No screen-content reading, no analytics, no ads, no account
