Oportun is the savvier way to meet your money goals. You can save without thinking about it, spend and budget smarter, invest at your own pace, and manage your Oportun loan in one place. For our credit card holders, we’re currently building out the credit card experience for our app.

Our app guides your money toward your goals in a way that takes your spending habits, income, money goals, expenses, and overall financial situation into account. It's an effortless tool to help you save, borrow, invest, and track your finances. Members typically save thousands of dollars a year* without feeling it.

Our app learns your spending habits and saves amounts you won’t feel, but add up fast. You can add an unlimited amount of savings goals and little by little, we will help you reach them all without impacting your other finances. Our app also serves as a progress tracker for your savings goals.

You’re more than a credit score and we take that into account. Our loans are designed to help you build your credit, so you can apply without a credit history**. Once approved, you can manage your loan alongside our other effortless financial tools. If you already have a loan through Oportun, you can use the app to manage it too.

A big part of financial health is staying out of debt and planning ahead. Oportun calculates smarter amounts to slowly budget into a dedicated Bills account, so you’re in a good place when it’s time to pay your bills. What’s left stays in your Spending account and can be used however you want. Budgeting and tracking your finances can be effortless.

Ratings and reviews

EDIT 6/4/23: The app is completely useless, just sticks on the title screen after you enter your credentials. Has been like this for weeks now. And you can't close your account from the website. Super convenient! I've been using this for years, and when it works, it's fantastic. But the last 2-3 months it will not stay connected to my bank account, i have to reconnect daily. If it isn't fixed soon, i will be closing my digit account, because the whole appeal is not having to think about it.

Edited 5/26/23: Oportun has made it so difficult to even access the app, I'm looking at other ways to automate savings. When it started, Digit was innovative. Now Oportun is lagging behind and causing me to stress over being able to access my own money. Nope. Digit has saved my butt more times than I can count. It's friendly, easy to use, and it makes saving fun.

EDIT: The savings withdrawals started back up, but now I can't turn the app on. Never gets off the welcome screen. Also since they told me to lower my account threshold to troubleshoot, I'm now negative $700. Thanks for that. --- Used to be great but once they were bought out, problems started. I paused savings and it won't start back up. It hasn't saved two months now. Used to be that you paused all savings for all goals at once. So now I have to pause 25 individual goals. Tedious.
