Plytrail is a handspinning journal for spinning wheels, e-spinners and spindles. Keep your fiber, bobbins, work settings and finished skeins connected, so you can return to a project with the details still at hand.
Follow each material
Track fiber through singles, partial plying and finishing. Record how much you use and what remains. Reuse a physical bobbin while keeping the history of the yarn it held.
Pick up where you left off
Keep project notes, photos, equipment settings and sessions together. Start without a weight or length and add measurements later. Use the optional session timer or record a session afterwards.
Remember the finished yarn
Compare measurements before and after wet finishing. Choose grams or ounces and meters or yards independently. Record measured wraps per inch (WPI), see grist from your measurements and save a simple PDF skein label.
Use a finished skein's recorded settings to start a new project. Your original materials and amounts stay with the original work.
Keep a copy of your journal
Journal records are stored on your device and the spinning workflow works offline. No Plytrail account is needed. Save a full backup with photos and restore it on another Android device. Export fiber records as CSV or share a skein's details as text.
Backups are manual; there is no automatic cloud sync. Restoring a backup replaces the journal on that device after you review the file and confirm.

The free version includes the full spinning workflow, bobbins, sessions, photos, basic labels, and complete backup and restore. Create up to 3 active projects and 10 standalone fiber batches. Archiving a project makes room for a new one.
Existing work stays available to reopen, edit, finish and export, even if a restored journal is above the free limits. Adding fiber within an existing project to continue that work remains available.
Optional one-time Pro upgrade
Plytrail Pro removes the limits on creating new active projects and standalone fiber batches, and adds named, reusable recipe templates.
Viewing a finished skein's settings and starting a new project from them are already free, within your available project places. Pro's named template library is a separate feature.
