Everyone has experienced that moment in the summer. You come out, silence, and then a buzz. Out of one ear. Out of the other. You punch the air, you hit your face, but the buzz continues
This game is about that exact moment.
Mosquito: Pitch Black is an audio-only "horror game." The screen is black the entire time. A real mosquito recording moves around your head in 3D stereo. You have to press on the screen where the mosquito just passed. In the dark. Without eyes. Only your ears tell you where it is.
HOW IT WORKS
Put on your headphones. Wait.
It's impossible to hit a mosquito buzzing from afar. The mosquito has to come close before you can hit it. You have to hit it very precisely to get it. Hit it and it flies away, coming right back, angrier. Ignore it too long and it lands next to you. Five seconds of vibration. Then another mosquito appears. Landed mosquitoes are a little easier to catch, but accuracy is still required.
The first ten minutes are a disaster. You're shooting into thin air. You start to think the game is broken. It's not broken. You listen with your eyes.
Maybe in the fifteenth minute you catch your first mosquito. You know it was earned. From there you hunt them down.
FIVE MOSQUITO PERSONALITIES
Each mosquito is a little different. One is slow and cautious. Another is aggressive and fast. The third appears right in your ear. Different pitch, different behavior. You start to recognize their differences.
PAIN HALL
The game keeps track of your suffering. Mosquitoes caught. Hit attempts. Hit accuracy. Bites received. Time spent in the dark. Time bitten. There's also a button that resets everything.

One right. Vibration. So that the phone vibrates when a mosquito bites you.
