About this app

Mendly Field Service is the job app for Mendly's own field technicians. It is issued to staff and contracted technicians for work use; it is not a general-purpose consumer app and requires a Mendly account created by an administrator.

Built for real conditions

Technicians work in places where signal is patchy or absent. The app keeps every job on the handset, so the day's work carries on whether or not there is a connection. Anything recorded offline is queued and sent automatically once signal returns.

What a technician can do

- See the jobs assigned to them, with the site name, street, landmark, city and a contact number
- Record arrival and departure times
- Move a job through its stages, from scheduled through on site to completed
- Work through the job's checklist and add notes against each item
- Log the parts used
- Write up what was done and what remains
- Attach photographs of the work
- Capture a customer signature on screen where the job requires one

Built on Odoo and OCA field service

The app talks to Mendly's own field service server over an encrypted connection. Each technician signs in with their own account rather than a shared key, so every change carries the identity of the person who made it, and a technician sees only the jobs assigned to them.

Privacy

The app does not track the device's location, contains no advertising or analytics, and shares nothing with third parties. Camera and photo access are used solely to attach pictures to a job, at the technician's initiative. Full policy: https://field.mendly.solutions/privacy
