Permission Pilot is a new kind of app to help you review apps and their permissions.
With each Android update permissions are getting more complex.
Android showing permissions in various different locations, doesn't make it easier to review them:
* App Info page
* Special Access
* Permissions Manager
* and more...
Permission Pilot lists all permissions in a single location, giving you a bird's eye view of app permissions.
Two perspectives are available: You can either view all permissions an app requests, or view all apps that request a permission.
Apps tab
All installed apps, including system apps and work profile apps.
Clicking on any app will list all permissions that the app has requested, including those that show up under Permissions Manager and Special Access, along with their status.
This will also include internet permissions, SharedUserID status!
Permissions tab
All permissions that exist on your device, including those that show up under Permissions Manager and Special Access.
Permissions are pre-grouped for easier navigation, e.g. Contacts, Microphone, Camera, etc.
Clicking on a permission shows all the apps that request access to that permission.
Apps and permissions can be searched using free-text, sorted and filtered by different criteria.

Shows a lot of information but not which apps have unlimited access to the internet when I've turned off background data for every app I can. It's not really useful knowing what apps are doing if you can't control what they're doing. Being able to remove unnecessary hidden permissions would be very useful.

Good catch, on your HMD Vibe (API 34) I can only show which apps request INTERNET, not who bypasses background data limits. Android treats that separately and doesn't expose it. Same for auto granted “hidden” perms, I can't remove them. Update & reboot, then mail support@darken.eu if you want me to check a specific app.

hey there, I have a question, for the system, why all apps system is closed on my phone? all the manager permission is red, I do not have possibility to work here, on my new phone, please could I have the answer on my question. thx.

Hi Maryna, on your Galaxy A17 with Android 16, Permission Pilot only displays permissions and links to Android’s settings. It cannot close apps or change permissions. Please update via Google Play and reboot. If the issue remains, send a screenshot and debug log to support@darken.eu so I can investigate.
