A farmhouse and a bamboo garden, more than 30 years ago, Master Shengyan took over the Nongchan Temple, carrying on the Nongchan family tradition established by the old man Dongchu, and opening up the lives of countless people to learn Buddhism and protect the Dharma. Monks propagate the Dharma, believers seek Dharma, and gather from all directions. The spiritual home extends from small farmhouses to layers of tin houses and temporary dojos, gathering unswerving wishes and aspirations, and giving birth to the touching story of the founding of Dharma Drum Mountain. A pool of water reflects the pavilion. Now, Nongchan Temple has been transformed into a landscape dojo. Master Shengyan’s compassionate wish to save people and endless teachings continue to lead the public into the door of compassion, that is, the mind of landscape, to hear their own nature. Nongchan family tradition, Shuiyue Dojo, spiritual home of inheritance and innovation, welcome you and me to come home at any time, to calm the body and mind, to cultivate blessings and wisdom.
