About this app

SkiLLfie = skills + Lifelong Learning + selfie!

Recognize your own skills and broaden your options!

SkiLLfie is a free app to help you widen your understanding about your own skills and possibilities. It has been created in cooperation of the University of Eastern Finland and Study Centre Sivis as part of the Opinsauna – Learning Spaces project (2017-2019).

SkiLLfie helps you to estimate your strengths and to find out possibilities of further learning. It can also help you to find words to talk about your skills with more confidence when needed – e.g. in a CV, online profile, job interview, talking with the labor offices, study counsellors, NGO´s or associations of the fields of your interest.

SkiLLfie is a set of tools for You. The data will be saved only to your own device. You can print or send onwards a PDF version of your responses, but there is no cloud or databank keeping or using your data for anything. In the written sections you can write in your own strongest language if you choose so.

There are four different SkiLLfie tools:
SkiLLfie Yellow: to put together what you already know you can do, and what do you enjoy doing. It is a good starting point.
SkiLLfie Green: to roughly map your level in different kinds of skills and to map your interest in learning more about some of them.
SkiLLfie Blue: to help you to update your CV with concrete skills, not just with a list of degrees, courses and jobs that you have done.
SkiLLfie Red: to get an idea of how you could develop your skills and competences further. What are you lacking, what options are available at the moment, and which of your skills are not currently at use?

SkiLLfie contains a LOT of questions to answer. You cannot respond to them all at once. The idea is, that you can take your time, fill in the details little by little and update your answers as you become more aware of your own skills and competences.

Based on your answers SkiLLfie can provide you with some possible ideas on how to move forward. However, best results you will get by getting into a contact with some local guidance counsellor to ponder together your possible steps forward.

PS. If you are using Facebook you can also use the #skillfie photo frame to show of your skills visually! Find it from http://grs.ly/cl7nfrz
