MATTR Wallet


MATTR Wallet works with MATTR VII and other decentralized identity platforms to obtain and store digital verifiable credentials that can then be presented to organizations in a secure, privacy-preserving way.

MATTR is building tools and working alongside communities who want to transform the internet into a web of trust and restore trust and confidence in digital interactions.

Decentralised identity and verifiable data present a new way to solve and restore trust in digital interactions. MATTR products provide the building blocks to solve and remove the historical challenges of digital security, privacy and data verification, opening up a new world of trust.

- In this version of the app, some of the features are tailored towards developers working with MATTR VII.
- At this time there is no backup and recovery of any data, this means you will need to obtain your credentials again if you lose your phone or if you reinstall the app.

Setup and login:
- Secure – All data is sealed using high-grade encryption
- Convenient – Fast login with biometrics or a 6-digit PIN
- Consent-based – You are in control, data is never shared without your explicit permission
- Notifications – Allow issuers and verifiers to notify you on credential status and updates, such as whether or not a credential has been revoked
- Activity log – Review activities using the conversational timeline

Obtaining a credential:
- Scan an issuer’s QR code or tap a notification
- MATTR Wallet guides you through steps to prove your identity with the issuer and create your credential
- View and store a digitally verifiable credential containing your data in an easy to read format
- View embedded images
- Tap on telephone numbers, email and location addresses to open

Presenting your data:
- Scan a verifier’s QR code or tap a notification
- Select a matching credential from your wallet
- Only selected data will be sent to the requestor
- When a privacy-enhancing credential is selected, only the requested data is shared

- Quick and secure authentication using DIDAuth (where supported)

What's New

Tech preview: Presenting credentials in offline scenarios

- For credentials that meet the offline criteria you’ll be able to generate a compressed verifiable presentation in CBOR-LD using a QR code.
- Credentials must be of a sufficient size to be able to be compressed. Typically, credentials with photos and signature schemes like BBS+ are unable to fit into a QR code format.
- Use the MATTR VII APIs to convert the linked data presentation and send it for verification.
