About this app

1dB Live turns the phones and tablets you already carry into a professional sound measurement rig — a full acoustics lab in your pocket, and a live view of every room from one screen.

MEASURE
• Live SPL with A, C and Z frequency weighting (dBA / dBC / dBZ)
• FAST (125 ms) and SLOW (1 s) time weighting, per IEC 61672
• Min, max, average, peak and LCpeak holds
• Leq — equivalent continuous level, with a selectable window

1dB LIVE — EVERY ZONE ON ONE SCREEN
Put a session on screen at the mix position and let the room join by scanning a QR code. Each phone becomes a zone — Balcony, Lobby, Stage, wherever you set it down — and streams its readings to a shared desk dashboard about once a second.

• Watch every zone live, each with level, trend, spectrum and full statistics
• Drop zones onto a floor plan and read the venue by colour
• Scrub the timeline to see how zones tracked against each other
• Predictive alerts warn you as a zone trends toward its ceiling, not after it has passed it
• Reset stats, start recordings, or make a phone buzz so you can find it — all from the desk
• Share a read-only web board so production or a noise officer can watch without installing anything
• Phones on the same Wi-Fi stream straight to the desk over the local network

ACCURACY
• USB measurement-microphone support (Dayton Audio iMM-6C) with per-serial calibration
• Manual calibration offset to match a reference meter or a 94/114 dB acoustic calibrator
• USB audio output routing for test tones
• Each zone shows its calibration status, so you know which numbers to trust

REPORTS
• Record a session and save it as a report
• Export CSV and PDF, with venue and notes
• Record remotely on any joined device from the desk

PRIVACY
All audio is analysed in real time on your device. Nothing is recorded, saved or transmitted — when you join a live session, only numeric measurement data is sent, never audio. No account is required. No advertising SDKs, no analytics and no cross-app tracking.

Note: 1dB Live is a professional measurement aid, not a certified Type 1/2 instrument. Accuracy depends on your device microphone and calibration. Built-in mics are excellent for trends, comparisons and finding problems; for calibrated absolute SPL, use a measurement microphone with its calibration file.
