Recently I had a phone die before dumping my photos and videos off of it. I lost a lot of good memories due to my laziness. Filen is solid security wise and has a desktop app that can back up (with multiple backup types) that works wonderfully. Their app is well, much lower caliber. Their photo backup and selection is a bit messy but it gets the job done. I'm sure this will mature nicely just like the desktop app. Right now it just seems... Slow? A bit messy? But well worth the cost. 4/5

Promising but very buggy and in it's infancy. Having a photo sync feature that cannot trigger in the background and only when you have the app in the foreground is an insanely easy bug to catch and a bug that shouldn't be there after a year. Still 3 star because open source and e2e. This is basically a crappier IceDrive alternative.

Hello unfortunately, the background process is not allowed by the operating systems. The current solutions for this, such as the GPS method, violate the terms of service of the respective providers, which is why the automatic camera upload only works properly when the app is open. We are trying to find a solution that works properly on all systems.

Would be good if it syncs folder structures instead of dumping everything into one folder, and default being no folders selected instead of all folders selected and i have to unselect everything except a few folders. But otherwise good cloud storage
