You have to buy an IR Transmitter for it to work! I don't know what more to say! This has never happened to me before! Bottom line, to know you need this part is to really read the About page. They do list that part! I wish there was a place to check off that doesn't rate an app, but let's you know you've already tested the app. Others might have the part and the app works well! On second thought, everyone says to just open & it works?? What??

Im giving it a 1 star for the fact it doesnt work! I tried it simply because my dish remote is old and they wont send me a replacement stating I need to upgrade my receiver. But Ive seen other reviews saying the the app wont work with their phones . Now with that said I always make sure to check that a app will work on my phone which it stated it did qualifed. So this isnt the problem with mine, now it states that I dont have IR capability Im sure I do because I have Samsung remote appthat works

Dish TV requires remotes that control the set-top box via infrared signals. I don’t think installing this kind of app will work. I did install the app, but all I saw was just a photo of a remote – they’re just fooling us!
