LG Remote Control is complete remote control for LG Smart TV and also Samsung TV models manufactured from ~2005 until present day. The difference between this and other applications found on store is that this remote works exactly like the original infrared remote. The remote's layout (image) is exactly the same as the Samsung and LG TV remote. Most older series use almost the same layout. So no need to learn how to use this app, just install it and start using it like your original remote.

How to use:

★ For LG Smart TV over Wi‑Fi / local network:
Make sure your phone and TV are connected to the same local network. Open the app, select your LG TV and pair it using the PIN code shown on the TV screen. You do not need the original remote control to pair the app with your TV.

★ Network control is supported for LG webOS TVs and older LG NetCast / legacy LG Smart TV models.

★ With a phone that has an IR blaster:
Point your phone’s IR blaster directly at the television, just like with the original infrared remote. The usual working range is 3–15 ft / 1–5 m and requires line of sight.

★ On some phones, especially in power saving mode or with a very low battery, the IR signal may be weaker and the working range may be less than 5 ft / 1.5 m.

★ You can also use the Wear OS watch app together with a paired phone that has an IR blaster over bluetooth or Please note that the phone must still be pointed at the TV for IR control to work. The preferred method is to use WI-FI

About compatibility:

This app has been available on Google Play since 2015. To support existing users, backward compatibility has been kept for older Android phones with built-in IR blasters.

IR remote control is still supported for LG TV and for all Samsung TV models. For most modern phones, the app is now mainly intended for controlling LG Smart TV over the local network.

Features:
All functions should work with the latest LG and Samsung TV models. If you have 15 year old model which does note have internet connection, then of course some internet related buttons like e-manual (online help) and internet apps will not open but all common functions will still work.
WearOS app works together with the companion app installed on phone.

Supported IR phones:
Devices with IR blaster running on Android KitKat and newer e.g Galaxy series S4, S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note3, Note 4, Tab4, Mega, HTC One series (M7/M8/M9) running on original ROM, LG G3 Stylus, G5, Xiaomi Redmi Mi and Note series, many Huawei and Honor phones, TCT / Alcatel I221 and some Lonovo tablets with IR interface.

Happily frustrated with this app. I thought I had found the solution to my problem of not having a remote for my Samsung 32 inch. However, 2 frustrations arose... firstly tapping the volume button is quite tedious but I can live with that. Secondly, the enter button on the remote doesn't work, which is vital for its functionality. I cannot open files or select certain options without it. So unless this gets fixed, I cannot rate it higher than 3 stars. ALL the other buttons work, just not enter.

I don't usually write reviews... but when I do it's when something is exceptional. What can I say, it exactly mimics the traditional Samsung remote! Oh, and no nonsense "calibrating" or trying to hook it up with the TV through Bluetooth for 2 hours. I pressed "install" and was controlling the TV in less than 1 minute. Also, the ads are non-invasive and acceptable.

Works. Crapily. When the volume blasts on the tv and you're trying to quickly turn it down, this thing needs to load an ad. Which takes about 15 to 30 seconds so everyone in your house will be awake by the time you can use it. Get a replacement remote on amazon for $10. Seriously, why does everthing have to be ruined with ads?
