Great game. 5 stars. But to get rid of ads it's either a subscription for $3, or $11 one-time to get rid of all but the end game double xp ads (which is the ones I want to get rid of). Also, I play like once a month when I have time. So $3/game sub... Ads during the game are easily avoidable by simply not getting the xtra benefits (which don't matter till much harder difficulties) which might then become pay-to-win. Not sure since my old playthrough was somehow lost... So now I'm starting over.

First off, I really like the game. I love the tournaments and the offline play. I didn't like the ads, so I finally paid for the ad removal and double XP... and nothing happened, I just go ripped off. I still like it though, but my desire to play is reduced. Update: It is likely that I misread the unlock all to include ad removal prior to the changes in the store, so I'm upping my rating based on the developer efforts.

Edit: At some point, they dropped the best feature of the game, so I really have no reason to keep playing. You used to be able to complete progressively more difficult levels with each character, beating harder moves with unlockable abilities. Now everything is open and no tracking, so there is no sense of accomplishment. ---- There is a lot of variety in this Slay the Spire genre game! I keep coming back to it and the playstyle of the 9 (more now) different heroes are quite a bit different...
