A completely free transit guidance app!
All functions are available for free, including nationwide timetables and delay information, convenient boarding location and intermediate station guidance for transfers, commuter pass fares, and walking route maps.

■Evolving Transit Guidance
From "Station A to Station B" to "Door to Door".
"Yahoo! Transit Guide" supports not only station-to-station searches but also searches by "location". We provide total guidance from "your current location to Tokyo Skytree" with "walking route map to the station + train transfer search". You can search by station name, bus stop name, address, or facility name.

It also features a "timetable adjustment function." It's okay if you arrive at the platform a little earlier or later than planned. By tapping the "Departure Time" in the search results, you can easily select trains you can board immediately or trains originating from this station and perform a new search.

Equipped with "Route Memo." You can save frequently used routes. These can be accessed on multiple devices such as PCs and iPhones.

■Timetable
- You can search timetables for train stations and bus stops nationwide.
- Tapping a time displays a list of the corresponding train's stops and bus stops, allowing you to easily check destinations and arrival times.

* Allows switching between vertical (list type) and horizontal (station timetable type) display.

* Supports date and time specification. Even special trains operating only on that day are displayed correctly.

* Supports filtering display by train type and destination. Display can be customized by specifying train names such as "Nozomi" and "Hayabusa," specific train types such as "Rapid" and "Commuter Express," and excluding trains terminating at intermediate stations.

* The "My Timetable" function allows you to register timetables with specified times and dates. Saving frequently used routes is convenient for commuting to work or school.


■ Countdown to Departure Time! "Commuter Timer" Function
* Counts down the departure time from frequently used stations to "○ minutes × seconds" remaining.

* Automatically switches between "outbound" and "return" stations depending on the time of day.

* Solves travel problems such as "getting lost at unfamiliar stations," "not wanting to miss the last train," and "wanting to avoid congestion during commutes."

This app provides optimal route guidance, train location information, and weather checks around stations, smartly guiding you to alternative routes even in the event of unexpected delays or bad weather. It's ideal for business trips using the Shinkansen (bullet train) or planning trips to unfamiliar places, and is also useful for navigating crowded post-event crowds and checking the last train after a show. It eliminates all travel anxieties, supporting comfortable journeys and a smooth daily life.

■Caution
・We recommend installing the app on the device's internal memory. Some home apps may not launch if installed or moved to the SD card. Apps installed or moved to the SD card cannot use widgets (Android OS specification limitations). When using the "Transfer Guide/Commute Timer Widget," please install the app to the device's internal memory.

・Push notifications may not be received when used in conjunction with power-saving apps. Please refer to the operating instructions for each power-saving app for details.

To identify the sending device from the server when using the push notification function for train operation information.
▽Location Information
Used when searching for transfers using "current location" as the departure point.
▽Images/Media/Files
Accessed for data management such as the route memo function and commute timer theme images.
To load photos saved on the device when using the user's photo as the background image for the commute timer function.
▽Microphone
Accessed when setting the departure point or destination, and when using the voice input function.
▽Wi-Fi Connection Information
Accesses Wi-Fi to determine if it's available to conserve 4G or 3G data usage.

Re-registers alarm activation information and automatic commute timer settings to the device upon restart.
▽Disables device sleep mode
Wakes the screen when boarding/alighting alarms are activated, the commute timer is automatically activated, or push notifications of service information are received.

Ratings and reviews

Dark mode should be optional. The app now follows the smartphone’s default mode, there is no option to manually switch back to light mode. This is bad UX for a transit app. Checking transportation information outdoors, under sunlight specially, is much harder in dark mode — particularly when people are in a hurry and information needs to be clear at a glance.

It's natural that this app is in Japanese but few versions earlier at least the accident warnings were opening in browser so I could translate and understand the situation. Now everything is within the app, including Help - all in Japanese and you can't copy text to use translation. I am beyond frustrated as otherwise this is best transport app! Yahoo jp clames to be very international but only about money I guess. At least make option to open in browser or copy text!

When I travel in Japan, it helps a lot! Very good application for subway navigation. My little suggestion is that if the app can recognize the station name in English will be more helpful.
