NOTES ON USAGE
• The app and its features are all free to use, but any fees resulting from downloading the app itself and any data transmitted while using it will be borne by the user.
• The app can only be used with models equipped with a Yamaha Communication Control Unit (CCU).
• You must connect your motorcycle to the app via Bluetooth before using the app. Refer to your motorcycle’s Owner’s Manual.
• Only errors that generate error codes are detected by the app.
• The app will not track your motorcycle if it has been moved from its last parking location.
• The app uses your smartphone’s GPS and Bluetooth functions, which may drain battery life faster.
• Some smartphones may be disconnected from the app due to battery or power-saving settings. Check your smartphone’s user manual or provider for details.
• Creating an account with YamahaMotorID is required to use the app.

Y-Connect app asks for the following device permissions as needed:
• Camera: To scan vehicle’s QR code
• Contacts: To select from phone contacts where to send malfunction notice
• Location: To pair the vehicle and utilize the map
• Phone: To display incoming call on the meter panel
• Files: To change vehicle’s image

Ratings and reviews

Function of the app is nearly useless. Permissions to run "all the time" are required but the app doesn't reconnect if connection is lost. Maintenance reminders are the only good part. When receiving a notification for a call/text, there's just a random generic notification. This whole app is just a gimmick that doesn't help the rider in any meaningful way. I hope to see better functions in the future.

I do not understand the purpose of this app; the only nice thing is the service reminder. Connectivity is a sham! Why do I want to have a popup notification saying my phone is doing a thing? It does not specify what the notification is for: is it a phone call, is it a text, is it one of the many things you can set to notify you? You won't know because it does not identify what the notice is! Why would I want to be distracted while riding by an unknown notification? Garbage app, improve?

Ride logs, auto parking location, Rev dash board, battery voltage, oil life and change tracking, MPG tracking, millage tracking, speed tracking, eco (better mpg monitoring) Could use more features and even suggested maintenance and matanance logging. More features would help out a lot. Maybe even lean angle and axas G force logging. Like the app. Great for Mt 09 24+ just likes to stay in Japanese. Lucky I can read it but dang what a strange issue.
