About this app

This application is about having a bit of fun with those amazing little RTL-SDR dongles, whilst listening to AM/FM/SSB radio signals. It's nice and easy to use so why not give it a try?

- Covers the full frequency range of your RTL-SDR dongle.
- AM and FM, wide and narrow, SSB
- FFT and Waterfall displays.
- Sample rates 240000 Hz to 2160000 Hz.
- Bias tee control.
- 75 presets over 5 pages.
- Gain controls.
- Squelch.
- Flexible display options, hide things you don't need to see.
- Built-in help.

There are two ways to use the application. The first is to use an RTL-SDR dongle and an SDR driver, available from Google Play. Selecting the Driver option in the application menu will open the driver page on Google Play. The second way is to connect to an instance of rtl_tcp running on a remote computer, most likely over WiFi. You will need a good network connection for this to work reliably so use of the driver is probably the preferred way to use the application in most cases.

We hope you enjoy using this application.

this app works ok as an SDR phone interface, not as feature rich as some like SDR++, but that's to be expected. this will probably work best if you already know what frequency you want to listen to, cause it's not super easy to "scroll" through frequencies quickly. I do wish it had a scanner option, or even an option to scan the bank of memories.

Thanks for the positive review, we will take your comments onboard 😀 You can change to a nearby frequency by clicking/dragging on the FFT or waterfall. UPDATE: Tapping the tuning summary below the frequency dial will now allow the desired frequency to be entered into a popup dialog box (V1.10 onwards).

Reception using rtl-tcp is good. However, FFT and waterfall are very choppy. Only limited demodulator options (AM and FM only). Has potential though.

Thanks for the review. We plan to add experimental USB and LSB demodulation soon, so if you would be willing to try it for us, that would be helpful 😀 EDIT: V1.13 now has experimental SSB demodulator.

Very easy to connect to an instance of RTL-TCP. The app seems incomplete as it does not offer demodulation of single sideband transmissions.

Thanks for the review. Yes, it is incomplete in that sense. We haven't worked out how to do that yet! 😀 Update: if we added experimental SSB demod, would you be able to give it a try for us? We don't see much SSB traffic in our location. EDIT: V1.13 now has experimental SSB demodulator. Will be live on play store in next day or two.
