It doesn't have the ads and information overload that google maps does, however it also lacks some quality of life improvements, even basic stuff like being able to orient text to the rotation of the map. It is open source but has a costly paid version. I'd like to decide between this and google maps, but instead I'm deciding between this and thr openstreetmap website which the app is based on but the website at least functions once loaded, where in the app I had to figure out how to configure.

Hello! Thank you for the feedback. Could you please provide screenshot of the map? If you use offline vector maps, text should follow map orientation. You can contact us at support@osmand.net.

The best offline map you can hope to get, but the GPS either has to have no voice prompts or LITERALLY informs you of the new calculated route time every 15 seconds with no way to turn that off. GPS would be absolutely perfect if I could just turn every voice prompt off except where to turn. Edit: voice prompts fixed; my only other desire here is the ability to plot your own routes and have the voice prompts follow it. Bonus points if it can recalculate based on your chosen route.

Not getting it. Consider myself tech savvy. There's no finangling with any other maps system, and I have my local AI cameras marked on my own Google Maps, but with people asking for it I figured I would share somewhere. Adding some on in my town, and ppl responding that it's already marked... nothing showing though, there or at any of the other locations. In edit mode, you can only zoom in/out with 1 or 2 fingers, can't move the map around? Other maps don't require so much messing about to work.
