Indispensable When Out of Cell Coverage And that is when you really need a map, right? The user interface can be obscure (like after a long tap on a location, how to make that go away?), but mostly quite nice. For a map while driving, showing where I am, not as pretty as Google Maps, but more functional. Swipe down: Didn't think of that. I tapped elsewhere, could you make that do it, too?
Was once great. Now terrible Tries to navigate via non-specified locations. Does not include specified waypoints. Not obvious how to remove unwanted waypoints. Would be useful to save a planned source, destination & waypoints for future use.
Long time supporter of a brilliant OSM based app - worried about updates I love OSMAnd and have used it for many years. The navigation features have come on in leaps and bounds, but the offline vector maps are the code of the appeal. However, the last "monthly" maps update didn't come through until the end of April, yet was dated April 1st. Is there a problem, a change of policy, or was this a one-time glitch? I really hope it's not a sign of things to come with normal map updates being degraded in favour of pushing users to subscription Live updates!
Nice app but Very good navigation app but the biggest thing reason I paid for it was to have it with Wikipedia articles and when I make my own filter for pois (which is messy to find and even messier to find how to edit) you can not select only English Wikipedia, only if you pick it as the only poi and not filter. My whole map is clogged with Vietnamese articles I can't read so had to not use Wikipedia which was what I got it for :/ please fix and let set proffered language and exclude others or just only English.
Good until sdcard issues Very useful, good maps. Would be 5 stars but... Recent issues with data folder: if you store maps on sdcard, it is usable until first phone reboot. After that map storage folder becomes not accessible and you have to reinstall application and its maps. If it happens in far trip with no data access - RIP. Support only asks for details, nothing else from them yet. Update: looks like the issue happens only when both application and maps are located on sdcard.
I'm a fan After reporting problems with the 2.3.3 update here, when 2.3.5 came out I decided to do a complete reinstallation including map files etc. All I carried over was the favourites.gpx file. V. pleased that it now works! The address lookup when a point on the map is selected is still slow, but I can carry on using the app while it is happening - previously it would hang my phone for a minute or more. No crashing now, either.
