I have paid for the pro version and sent email to request more information about use of this app and have not received any correspondence back from Spence or Dan there seems to be a lot about the use of this app but without support the use of pro version is no help at all. I am sure that it all makes perfect sense to the developer but to the average quy you would need help to set it up. But I don't seem to be able to get any response at this time. So unless you are a gyro I would not suggest that you try to go pro.
Useful Tool The signal strength meter and frequency band display were very useful in helping me set up a cellphone signal booster for my home. I went from -117 dbm to - 79 dbm in the area of the booster. And I have about -104 dbm around the rest of a 1900 sq ft house. Thank you LTE Discovery. The only flaw I found is that the directional arrow does not point in the direction of the tower I know I am linked to. It would also be nice if the tower map feature was working.
It actually works, used across most wireless engineers I've met doing field work when a TEMs phone or scanner device isn't available. Past that, it's not perfect. An example would be a better means you identify particular LTE PCIs to their respective bands. Often I've had to separate which freqs per LTE PCI are on air and at what power.
I am NOT at all tech savvy in the least. However, all the bits of information along with the strong evidence displayed by the developers to be as helpful as possible, shows the true desire to create a superior functioning app. I'm still playing around with it, and learning so much! So for that alone it is definitely worth a lot!
Just got started using it, but it does give a lot of good info. I'm going to try it out a little bit more than most of the apps, I try for a half hour to hour and uninstall.
Genuinely amazed this works after so many apps of this kind not supported on my device. My Huawei P10 likes to drop its 4G/LTE signal frequently. This app will detect that and reconnect to the LTE tower. Only complaint is that the cycle does take a little while, but great otherwise!
- Runtime permissions rather than install-time permissions (Android 6.0+)
- New page: Settings->Permissions (Android 6.0+)
- New Cell Radio Cycle method in updated page: menu->Settings->Cell Radio Cycle
- Ability to show LTE PCI in Live Notification and Signal Overlay feature
- Bug fixes
