UPDATE Nov 8th 2023 This app is worse than it has ever been, ridiculous! Keeps freezing, too slow, still mic issues and countless updates. Too many updates but nothing ever gets fixed. I just did the most recent update and now there's another problem. I enter a party room and the app closes after a min or two, and then you still have the original problem with the mic situation. What is going on? Such a shame because I really like this app but can't take the frustration, too many problems.

I've been waiting to get matched to an exchange parter since September 27th, and now it's October 8th. When I open the app it says it could take "up to 7 days" to get matched to a language exchange partner, but it's been even longer than that. I was excited to practice my language skills with fluent speakers, but If I can't even use the app, I'm just going to delete it.

Tandem is absolute garbage. They have so many bugs, especially with their party feature. Sound doesn't work, and if you're lucky enough to hear someone's voice, you hear a lot of static. Also, notifications have stopped working completely for android users. So you'll never know if someone messaged you, unless if you keep the app on all day, which will drain your battery. Also, they randomly ban people for arbitrary reasons. Stay away at all costs.
