Desktop version is great and I have used it since inception. The Android app is just a warmed over k9 mail, and still has all of k9's deficiencies. Two glaring ones are no support for filtering messages (for example to automatically sort incoming mail) and the other, related one, is no autoresponder support. The desktop version has excellent filteration and the filters can be used to set up autoresponses based on details of the message. A curious failure.

Unfortunately the Android app doesn't support filters yet. This could be something we add in the future, though we don't know when. For now, please upvote and support requests for filters at connect.mozilla.org

It's email. It allows me to avoid ads, but it does not allow you to block emails, and marking them as spam is useless. I thought these were selling points of the app. Pretty disappointing. Support requires you to download an entirely different app, which I refuse to do. I have zero desire to fill my phone with bloatware. I've had the same experience with it using Ubuntu on my laptop. I don't really like it, but there's nothing better out there. I have more to add, but Google said no.

Thanks for the feedback, and for now, you'll want to manage spam with your provider. (We are exploring how we could add a spam filter.) But all our support is through the Mozilla Support (SUMO) page (support.mozilla.org) via Settings > Get Help. You do need an account to make a new question, but not a separate app!

I just want an email client that works :( is that too much to ask? I switched to Thunderbird because Gmail would fail to send messages lock up and crash way too often. But it turns out Thunderbird has its own set of problems, the search function straight up doesn't work and sometimes it will fail to send messages and will not give me any feedback and why the message failed to send.

We're sorry you're having issues with search and sending mail and we'd like to troubleshoot it in more detail with help from our community. Can you please go to Settings > Get Help and open a support question with more information [and any helpful logs and screenshots]? Thank you!
