FREEPTT is push-to-talk radio for Android phones. Press to talk, release to listen. No email, no password, no account.

Install the app, open it, and your device generates its own cryptographic identity. Connect to the FREEPTT public network and start talking, or join a licensed operator or self-hosted system with a server address or QR code.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Hold the on-screen PTT button to transmit; release to listen
• Join group channels for team coordination
• Make private one-to-one calls (always end-to-end encrypted)
• Use broadcast channels when only one station should transmit
• Send text messages and alerts
• Scan multiple channels, like a conventional radio
• Switch between networks without reinstalling

SECURITY
Private and encrypted-group calls are sealed on your device with AES-256-GCM before they leave the phone. A fresh session key is used for each PTT press. The server routes packets it cannot read.

Open group channels are not encrypted — that is intentional, like a conventional radio net. Every connection still uses two-layer authentication: TLS for transport, then mutual proof that the server belongs to your network and that your device is who it claims to be.

Your identity is a hardware-backed key, not a name or email. We do not require an account to use the app.

REQUIREMENTS
Android 7.0 or later. Microphone permission is required to transmit. Camera is used only to scan QR codes for server setup. Notifications are used for connection status and incoming messages.
