About this app

Baromir is a barometer and altimeter that tells you what's really happening — not a number pretending to be more certain than it is.

Most barometer apps show one figure and call it "accurate." Baromir does the honest thing: every reading is labelled with where it came from — your phone's barometer or GPS — and whether it's calibrated. When your device can't measure something, Baromir says so, clearly, instead of guessing.

▸ EVERY READING, LABELLED
See the source of each number and its calibration state at a glance. Raw station pressure, sea-level (MSL) pressure and pressure-altitude are shown separately, so you always know which is which.

▸ AN HONEST ALTIMETER
Pressure-altitude drifts as the weather changes, and GPS altitude can be off by tens of metres. Baromir tells you that openly — and lets you calibrate to a fixed reference from a known elevation (a trailhead sign, benchmark or map) or from GPS. No barometer on your device? Baromir falls back to GPS and shows the uncertainty instead of hiding it.

Watch the barometric pressure trend — rising, falling or steady — with the rate in hPa/h. Storm alerts let you know when pressure drops rapidly, a possible sign of a coming weather change — just allow notifications and Baromir does the rest. Honest by design: it's a pressure-trend alert, never a dressed-up forecast.
