I love rnz, and this app seems better than using my phone's browser. Looking at the other comments, it seems like other users have been experiencing a few bugs. So far on my oneplus phone I've been fine. One thing though: could you include content that was aired prior to 1st Jan 2017? Eg what if I wanted to listen to some missed Saturday morning shows while on holiday...
Under performs The UI and general functionality is great and generally easy to use but at least for me on my nexus 4 the stream will stop after a few minutes and disappear from the notifications tray. Also many programs like Media watch don't appear in the list but are available on the website. I guess this is because the full list would create clutter but surely this can be rethought in a way that is clean and gives you all programs.
Largely good, slightly faulty The app is very good at streaming live radio. Specific shows can be found if you know what they are called - otherwise tough to just browse. The 'Featured' front page has not refreshed since I downloaded the app weeks ago.
Needs work I use mainly for live audio on my Galaxy Nexus. Takes a long time to buffer and start playing and often drops connection. Usually drops connection if any other online activity started eg Web browsing or email check. Much more sensitive than similar live streams such as BBC or ABC. Not a good look for RNZ.
Ughhhh please fix it! Installed this a week ago and have had 310 errors.. it makes my phone run really slow. I was willing to ride it out because I really enjoy using the play list function to listen to my favourite shows. I don't use the live streaming. Main reason for using this was my phone has no fm receiver. Please fix it!
Good but time for some tweaks Great app and concept unfortunately the connection to streaming and listening to podcasts often drops, this seems to have been getting worse. Also a weird glitch where by when a track is added to the play list and then you go back to the channel the list does not often appear.
Lots of bug fixes!
S4 & S5 users should have a bit more luck with the live streams.
Listen to your playlist offline!
- When you're on WiFi and add an item to your playlist, the app will automatically download it
- Downloaded items can be listened to in flight mode, or any other situation where you don't have internet.
Thanks for taking the time to report errors, please continue to do so if needed.
