About this app

MigraineSpy is a migraine tracker and headache diary. You log when a migraine
starts, log when it ends, and the app keeps a dated history you can look back
on, filter by time period, and export.

It is built to be usable during an attack: starting a log takes one tap, and
every other detail is optional and can be added later or left out entirely.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Start a migraine with one tap, end it with one tap
• Record intensity on a 1-10 scale
• Attach symptoms from a built-in list, or add your own
• Record medications you took, what you took them for, and whether you noted
that they helped, did nothing, or you were not sure
• Write a free-text note on any entry
• Log symptoms on their own when they never turn into a full migraine
• Add a migraine that already happened, with your own start and end times
• Edit or delete any entry afterwards

TIMING AND DURATION

The app records the exact start time and works out the length of each migraine
for you. The timer is calculated from the stored start time, so an entry keeps
counting correctly if you close the app, restart your phone, or run out of
battery mid-attack.

HISTORY AND CALENDAR

• A month calendar showing which days had a migraine
• Six time ranges: month, 30 days, 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 6 months, 12 months
• Each range shows how many days had a migraine and how many were clear
• Days are colour-coded by intensity, from gold through orange to red
• Days with more than one migraine show a count, such as 2x or 3x
• Tap any day to see the entries recorded on it
• Two running counts: days clear, and days in a row with a migraine
• A full list of every entry, newest first

QUICK SYMPTOMS

Choose up to eight symptoms you notice often and they appear as one-tap buttons
on the migraine screen. You can also add a new symptom in the middle of an
attack without leaving the screen — it is saved to your list for next time.

DESIGNED FOR LIGHT SENSITIVITY

• Dark, light, and an extra-dark "ultra dim" theme
• An in-app screen dimmer you can switch on during an attack, which darkens the
app without changing your device brightness
• Optional muting of colour while a migraine is running, so the app is plain
when you are sensitive and normal when you are not
• Large touch targets throughout
• Lock to portrait, so the screen does not turn when you do

REMINDERS

One optional reminder, sent by your own device, if a migraine you started is
still marked as running after a number of hours you choose. It fires once and
never repeats. There is nothing else that notifies you.

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

MigraineSpy has no account and no sign-in. Nothing you write is sent to a
server, because there is no server. Your entries are stored in a private
database on your device.

You can save a backup file at any time, free, and send it wherever you like —
Drive, email, a messaging app, your own storage. Restoring reads that file back
in and shows you what is in it before changing anything, with the choice to
merge it or replace what is there.

PRICING

MigraineSpy is free to download. Logging migraines, symptoms, medications,
notes, the calendar, the streaks, and backup and restore are all free and stay
free. There is no subscription and no advertising.

One optional purchase adds PDF export: a readable summary of any date range you
pick, which you can keep, print, or bring to an appointment. Optional tips are
also available for anyone who wants to support development; tips unlock nothing.

IMPORTANT

MigraineSpy is a personal journal for your own records. It does not give medical
advice, and it is not a medical device or a clinical record. If you are worried
about your health, speak to a doctor.

What’s new

Migraines that run past midnight are counted more fairly. A migraine now counts on the day it started, and on a later day only once it covered 8 hours or more of it. A shorter spill-over is marked on the calendar with a small ring rather than counted as a second migraine day. History now shows how many migraines you had alongside how many days, and explains the rule. Prefer the old way? Settings > Counting days. The backup screen now shows when you last saved a backup file.
