@EdX, I found EdX to be awesome. So installed the app. But couldn't download the videos through app. getting an error, 'your current download settings only allow downloads over Wi-Fi'. But changed my setting in playstore. Still getting the same. Could u pls help?
I absolutely love Edx, but this app doesn't work very well. It's slow, the text doesn't fit to the screen, and there isn't an easy way to just read the transcription of the videos like there is on the website. When you return to a course it isn't very obvious what exercises have been done already without manually going through and looking at each one.
Amazing app and amazing faculties who are genuinely interested in making the learning reach out to the world. The best part is the assessments and assignments are available to unpaid users as well.. Would have given more than 5 star. Recommend this to all. This app is certainly better thank Udemy in terms of free knowledge that edx is providing. Good job guys. Developer: can you check why the downloaded videos are not playing offline.. I guess there's some technical glitch.
EdX content is superb. However, while I can access all of my courses and (for the most part) have no problems watching the videos, the rest of the content won't load. I have no problem accessing everything with the internet browser - i.e.: good idea, app needs work. It would also be good, if we could somehow sort the courses we've subscribed to (e.g. in topic categories). This is an issue with the original homepage, as well.
Lets me download course videos for watching offline. I can even do many of the quizzes and post in the forum. I use the website for more complex stuff and of course it's more comfortable with a bigger screen but sometimes I just want to watch a video on my phone. Syncs well with the website.
Test excercises do not load at all, seeing blank page; "no internet connection" warning shows up at random, while page is actually loading in background, page loads, but icon remains covering content. When submitting feedback directly from the app, it gets sent to generic feedback and not sorted by app vs. mobile browsers feedback, they do not support mobile browsers, so it's useless actually.
- For videos with transcripts, transcripts are available on portrait view only. Transcripts are scrollable and synchronized with the video playhead.
- Video downloads are shown in notifications.
- All courses that you are enrolled in on edx.org are now visible on the mobile app.
- Versions earlier than 2.5 are deprecated. To access courses, make sure you upgrade to the latest version.
- General improvements and bug fixes.
