Started doing this instead of Duolingo a couple weeks ago and haven't looked back. It teaches grammar rules, how to form sentences, focuses on speaking, and explains how to transform English knowledge into your target language via common roots (hence the title "Language Transfer"). It's free without ads and has been great to use. You do need to pause the lessons and answer the speaking prompts yourself if you want to learn anything, but I still would 100% reccomend it.

I am consistently impressed by this app. It was created with phenomenal content and the teaching is truly wonderful. The narrator does a fantastic job of explaining what could be difficult concepts and making them entertaining, informative, and memorable-WITHOUT having to rely on memorization. In the beginning, he always mentions DO NOT TRY TO MEMORIZE, just listen through the explanation, pause the video to come up with your own answer whenever he asks a question, and LEARN ANOTHER LANGUAGE! ā¤ļø

Love this method! Honestly, it's a podcast, but I like podcasts, and this is the best Spanish class I've had. I'd rather listen to this than play duolingo. As for the app, I like that it puts it all in one place and keeps track of my progress, instead of having to search YouTube for the Spanish Transfer playlist. But I wish there was a way to manually select or de-select a lesson as "complete" instead of having to remove all progress, when I only want to de-select a few of lessons as "done".
