Explore, learn about, and document your geologic surroundings! Whether you are a professional geoscientist or curious about the rocks around you and the stories they tell, Rockd allows you to explore and learn about the geologic record, contribute your own observations, and log your journey through the geologic record.

Features:
- Instant access to geologic and geographic summaries of your current location via a Dashboard
- Interactive global access to more than 140 geologic maps, with more being added weekly
- See your past location and explore paleogeographic maps from C.R. Scotese and GPlates
- Explore published literature containing mentions of mapped geologic units (when available) via GeoDeepDive
- Elevation data for most points on Earth from SRTM, GMTED, NED and ETOPO1
- Add your own field observations even offline; tag features from Macrostrat and the Paleobiology Database
- Record strike/dip or trend/plunge for geologic features, using your phone's compass
- Track your progress through the geologic record privately, or share it with others
- See the public activity of other users and share your own and other public checkins using unique URLs

Update: I have been using this app for some time now, no issues, no problems. Until a weeks ago everything was fine, now it stopped working, uninstall/re-install, works once, then nothing. My phone and settings have not changed... A geologist pointed me in the direction of Rockd, I have found this the most useful app basically for everything I do rockhounding. I feel that I have mentioned the more than 100 times in my posted and comments online, reaching thousands of people.

I really like the idea of this app, and some of the features are nice. But, on my dashboard screen, some of the info boxes overlap, making them unreadable. Also, I have tried like 5 times to create an account, and it simply won't do it. I enter all info, and it takes me to the login screen...and nothing. Says an account doesn't exist for the email that I just entered. Pretty frustrating.

Great app, especially love the relevant literature results in search. UX needs some work. Search is my main use for the app, and it's annoying that it's hidden in a menu on the map view instead of surfaced on the dashboard. It's also surprising that mapping is not just part of the dashboard to begin with (if screen size is an issue, just make the stratigraphy information collapsible).
