About this app

Indic Keyboard is the first Android keyboard for Indian languages, now rebuilt from the ground up. Type in your language anywhere you would type in English: messages, email, search and more.

# How do I enable it?
A setup wizard walks you through turning on the keyboard and picking your languages and layouts.

# I see a warning about "collecting data" when enabling the keyboard
Android shows this for every third party keyboard. Indic Keyboard does not collect anything you type.

# What is a keyboard layout?
Each language offers different ways to type:
- Transliteration: type in English letters and they turn into your script. "namaste" becomes नमस्ते.
- Predictive Transliteration: transliteration that learns your words and suggests the right spelling.
- Inscript: the Government of India standard layout. If you know it on desktop, it works here too.
- Phonetic: letters sit where their English sound-alikes are.
- Compact: no shift key. Long press a letter for more options.

it's an awesome app. but if they could provide more options such as having options to type symbols by long pressing the keys or by pressing shift, like in gboard. also they need to calibrate the gesture typing more to put more priority over more used words (or predictive entries) rather than being rigid about the precise gesture. anyways I'll keep using it for sometime as it is made in India

Excellent app for Southeast Asian language support. Its just the keyboard has an awkward empty 1 cm space below the last row. Earlier it wasn't there. Great app apart from that.

Been using this for over a decade. But in the latest update for Burmese (Myanmar) language ဋ is missing?
