Removed a star due to the recent UI change which hypothetically makes navigation easier but at the cost of a clunkier interface and blocky appearance with small font. The quality of the teachings and discussion remains unparalleled, and I will continue to recommend this app to spiritually curious acquaintances, although as a user since 2018 this is the first time an update has made Waking Up less functional. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

I've wanted to incorporate meditation into my life for a long time. I had difficulty doing so with no sense of direction. Waking Up has made such a difference. I look forward to each session. I learn to integrate what I've learned through the practice. Part way through the introductory course, I made the decision to purchase the yearly subscription. I have no regrets.

I finished the 50-day meditation course and it goes deeper than most other courses. Well structured and edited. Science friendly with minimal religious add-ons. Would have preferred a more secular term for metta meditation (e.g., loving kindness), and I don't find the energy in Sam's voice very compassionate/loving when he talks about this. I will use other guided meditations for this type of meditation. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the app and I plan to use it for a long time to come.
