About this app

Have you ever encountered toast messages generated by an unknown app?

If so, this app can help you track down their source. It will show a notification with originating program's name, icon or save info about a toast, so you can check it later. Then, you can quickly launch it or go to a system screen with more info about the app.

For app to work, you must launch it and click "ENABLE SERVICE" button which will open system settings panel with a list of available accessibility services. There, go to "Toast Source Detection Service" and enable it. After finding out problematic app, you can disable service without any worries.

App does not have internet permission, so it won't be able to send toast contents to me or anybody else.

This app uses Accessibility services. They are used for detecting toasts and reading their contents as well as metadata (like name and identifier of the app that generated a toast).

After a recent update, I started getting a gray box with "Failed to load". It was really a nuisance because it was right in the middle of my screen and it made text messages impossible to read. Had I known it was something so simple as an app notification from a website that apparently reloads every 30 seconds it would have driven me nuts! It was fixed just seconds after I downloaded Toast Source. Thanks to the developers for creating a solution to those of us who are not so savvy!

I had the very similar problem and it was what inspired me to create this app :)

Excellent app. I have two annoying toasts popping up. One says "already copied to clipboard" every time I paste something. This app helped me find that Samsung Keyboard was responsible. But it didn't pick up the source of another toast which says "no internet connection" and "your internet was restored." Any idea how I can find the source of that one?

Trying to find a very annoying popup which says "Account abnormal. Please login again." I was hoping this app would find the issue. UPDATE I have managed to detect the offending app. Imou Life for my security camera. Not sure how I got it to detect it. I pressed both volume buttons which seemed to get it to listen in the background. But I don't seem able to get it functioning again? I think a help section would be most useful.

And how help section would improve things? App already tells how to enable it. Help section won't help if something is not technically a toast (only thing this app registers) or your phone manufacturer decided to kill background apps, breaking the app in effect.
