Great app for planning and recording walks. I particularly like that you can see the elevation of the point you've focused on, which gives you a realistic feel for how steep a path is going to be. And you can see the distance from where you are to a particular point, which is another really useful feature. Wouldn't go walking without it.

Big problems for Android users. Maps, Tracks and print files etc are stored in Android/data. It seems that Android does not allow easy access to this area. Developers must give users the option to save and use these files in a more accessible location. The track recorder freezes if stationary for more than about 10 minutes, and having "no restrictions" on Android battery saver doesn't solve. Otherwise a good app with many useful features.

I'm a bit upset by your rating, especially because the application folder location is imposed by the Android system, and also because you can read this folder with any File Manager or Sync application updated for Android 11.

The demise of Viewranger was a blessing in disguise. AlpineQuest is a far superior navigation tool that I just didn't know about before. Million times better, with fantastic customer support too. Can't recommend it highly enough. It works exactly how you'd want it to. In particular the ability to easily get bearing, distance & slope to any point on the map, independent of current heading, which is projected out for easy landmark identification. Amazing offline caching; great routing & tracking.
