About this app

This keyboard is created for those who only need a keyboard and nothing more.

To enable the keyboard:
* Open "Simple Keyboard" from your launcher
* Enable the Simple Keyboard (default system warning about tracking will be shown)
* Switch to Simple Keyboard from current Input Method (differs between keyboards, usually long-press space)
* To edit Simple Keyboard settings long-press "," or open system Settings, Languages & Input, Simple Keyboard.
* You can enable/disable all the input methods in Settings, Languages & Input, Manage Keyboards (differs between phones)

this could be genuine garbage and the lack of ads and tracking would still net it 3 stars, but thankfull it isn't garbage. it's actually really good. the lack of clipboard is annoying but not a dealbreaker (notes app is a good replacment). I wish I could make the keys a little bigger, but most keyboards don't do that anyway. I would happily give this 5 stars, except that recently there has been a bug where the backspace key just stops working. that is extremely inconvinent.

Simple Keyboard has a good customizable layout. To access settings, long press the comma key. It has no dedicated voice to text key option, no spell checker, but for people who don't want those options, it's a good keyboard that types smoothly. It doesn't harvest or share data, and that's a top priority for me. The app doesn't take up much memory space. Clean non-fussy layout. For writers who need help with spelling, keep a dictionary handy.

I enjoy this keyboard knowing that I don't need to worry about data collection as much. The increased typos are getting smoothed out through practice. Biggest issue, though, is the fact that pressing and holding the backspace will semi-regularly delete space in front of the cursor; it's too easy to try to delete one sentence and end up losing the first half of the second, or for the paragraph formatting to be ruined. Ultimately, a good keyboard. Please just fix this issue. Thank you.
