About this app

Norrklang is a music player for Navidrome, Plex and Jellyfin, built for the
screen in your car.

You need your own server. Norrklang connects to a Navidrome server — or any
server speaking Subsonic API 1.16.1 — to a Plex Media Server with a music
library, or to a Jellyfin server. It is not a streaming service and ships
with no music of its own.

In the car
• Browse your library: artists, albums, playlists and favourites
• Home screen with Quick play, your favourite artists, recently added tracks
and generated mixes — Best of, Similar to, genres and decades
• Full playback: queue, shuffle, seek, cover art
• Autoplay keeps the music going with similar songs when the queue runs out
(can be turned off)
• Add albums and songs as favourites while listening
• Internet radio: the stations set up on your Navidrome server, with the
ones you listen to most on Home. Heart a song you hear to note it — the list
stays in the car, with a QR code to open it on your phone
• Voice and keyboard search across artists, albums and tracks
• Ask the car's assistant to play an artist, album, song or playlist
• Streaming quality per connection: original files on Wi-Fi, a capped
bitrate on mobile data — or pick your own tiers
• Choose which of your server's music libraries to show — the rest stay
out of browsing, search and mixes
• Play counts reported to your own server, with per-artist, per-playlist and
per-library exclusions — or turned off entirely
• Picks up where you left off after the car restarts

Navidrome and Subsonic
• Sign in with your server address and account. Only a token is stored,
encrypted on the device; the password itself is kept (encrypted) only for
servers such as Nextcloud Music that cannot verify tokens
• HTTPS required for the server address; radio stations stream straight from
their own address, plain http included

Plex
• Link your Plex account with a short code or QR scan — no password typed in
the car
• Streams from your own Plex Media Server

Jellyfin
• Sign in with your server address and account. The password is never stored
— only an access token, encrypted on the device
• HTTPS required for the server address

Private by design
No ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party services. The app
talks only to your server (plus plex.tv to link a Plex account, and the radio
stations you choose to play). Credentials
are encrypted and stay on the device. Diagnostics stay on the device too and
are shared only if you choose to submit a problem report.
