Since Syria is committed to a program of economic and financial reform, our Government, in recognition of the importance of financial markets, established the Syrian Commission on Financial Markets and Securities by virtue of Law /22/ of 2005. The Commission is an organizing entity, related to the Prime Minister, having a legal identity with financial and administrative autonomy and its the headquarters are in Damascus.
The Commission controls, develops and organizes Syrian stock exchanges and all related activities, such as disclosure, issuance of securities, licensing of financial services companies, accrediting auditors, etc. It enacts all legislations related to securities in order to ensure that all transactions will be transparent and trustworthy with no speculation or exploitation
