About this app

Eclair Touch COVID-19 assists the COVID-19 swab collection process for collection facilities. It is designed to:
- Reduce the risk of infection to collection staff
- Streamline patient identification
- Speed up processing of tests

The app guides the collection staff through the required steps for the COVID-19 swabbing process for each patient.
Positive patient identification

Scan the patient’s barcode for identification.
App displays patient demographic details for collection staff to confirm they have the correct patient.

COVID-19 Swab ID and collection

Scan the barcode ID on the COVID-19 swab container.
Carry out sample collection process for COVID-19 nasopharyngeal or oral swab from patient.

Complete collection workflow

Present COVID-19 swab to scan in app again when sample collection is complete.
The order is matched with the patient ID and the COVID-19 swab ID, eliminating the possibility of errors.
Process is complete, move onto next patient.
eOrder is sent to the laboratory.

Note:
Scanning of barcodes uses the camera function in smart phone.
COVID-19 Swab ID is unique to the container as per manufacturer specifications.
Requires the Eclair database (CDR) and Lab eOrders module.
